Sampling our way around Holderness and Beverley

A very productive day spent touring the Holderness area.  Our day started with a quick visit to Mr Moos www.mrmoos.co.uk where we quickly popped in to leave our details.  The staff were welcoming and the food in the counters looked appetising.  Outside there is a lovely seating area which would have been perfect for enjoying a coffee on a slightly warmer and drier day!
William's Farm Kitchen www.williamsfarmkitchen.co.uk at Hornsea Freeport was a real find.  Chock full of Yorkshire produce, much of it from the East Riding and a very warm welcome from Mark who happily chatted to us about all the suppliers whose produce he stocks.
It seems Brandesburton is a bit of a foodie's paradise with The Black Swan recently voted one of the top pubs in Yorkshire and just over the road Harper's Fish and Chips.  As we came out of the pub we saw people enjoying the sunshine eating perfectly cooked fish and chips - very tempting.  The great thing is wherever you are in the East Riding you are never far away from a Harpers www.harpersfishandchips.co.uk as they have a number of branches - Wetwang, York, and coming soon - Market Weighton.  Round the corner is Charters the butcher established for over a century!
Back in the car to Beverley and our first call was to speak to Sean at Perk-u-later where we enjoyed a well earned cup of tea (no cake this time!).  Being Saturday it was market day and as usual, the centre of Beverley was buzzing.  Another pit stop was required, this time at the Indulgent Tarte for some more substantial sustenance - Mexican Bean Soup and a piece of honey and almond flapjack - delicious!!  James from The Blending Room was very positive and asked us some great questions www.theblendingroom.co.uk. We took a brief detour into Amanti to buy Father's Day presents, they have beautiful ceramics and well designed kitchen equipment www.amantidirect.co.uk.  It hasn't been possible to mention all the people we saw today, there were so many, thank you to everyone we spoke to for taking time out of their busy days to listen to us and special thanks to Steve at The Black Swan for his words of praise and encouragement.  Look out for our next update coming soon!!
